Charly signs up for padel! 🎾

Hello!

Those who know me a little know that I love to stay active. You will usually find me with my hiking boots exploring some corner of the coast, but this week I swapped them for sneakers and a padel racket.

Heading to La Salada Padel & Tennis in Sant Feliu de Guíxols!

Padel is hugely popular here in Spain, and now I completely understand why. It's a fun, social sport, and surprisingly, you get the hang of it quite quickly.
Well… more or less. 😉

And what about the glass?

For those who have never played padel: it's a sort of combination between tennis and squash. It's usually played in pairs, and the glass walls are also part of the game.
I had to learn that on the go.
A ball I thought was lost came back so calmly after bouncing off the glass.

After a while, I started getting the hang of it. And although I had said before starting, of course, that it was "just to have a good time", it turned out I had a slightly more competitive spirit than I thought…

From La Salada to the world elite!

And speaking of competitiveness…

From December 10 to 13, 2026, Barcelona will become the epicenter of padel with the Premier Padel Finals!
In the impressive Palau Sant Jordi, the best male and female players on the international padel circuit will face each other.
Four days of elite sport, spectacular rallies, and, of course, a lot of padel.
I think I can still learn a few tricks there. Although I fear that afterward, I'll still have to chase after the balls. 😉
For padel lovers staying at the Hotel Barcarola in December, this is a fantastic opportunity to combine a visit to Barcelona with a very special sporting event.
